Stainless Steel Cotter Pins
A cotter pin is a locking mechanism that can be used in a variety of different situations. These fasteners are simply a bolt with a hole on one end and two prongs on the other. The cotter pin is inserted into the hold of a nut, then the two prongs of the pin are bent away from each other using pliers. This ensures the pin can not move or slide out of the nut, locking both in place. The end of the cotter pin with the hole is designed to be too large to fit through the nut and is easy to grip if you need to bend the prongs back to their original shape.
We carry a selection of stainless steel cotter pins that are both durable enough to resist wear or stain while being flexible enough to easily bend into a secure locking position. Extended prong cotter pins have elongated prongs to allow for locking thicker nuts or for a more secure tightening, and the excess length can be cut off if needed. These pins are available in a variety of sizes to fit just about any automotive nuts.
